Utopia modernista em tecidos: os designs de têxteis na União Soviética leninista

Abstract

After the Revolution of October 2017, in an effort to collaborate with the Communist Party to transform the agrarian country into an industrialized nation, a group of young designers linked to the revolution, between 1927 and 1933, in the Soviet Union designed themed textiles for the garments intended for mass production. The proposal of these designers was to mold their buyers into ideal Soviet citizens since they had as patterns, images and symbols allusive to the plans of government. In this article I present the political and artistic contexts that led to this experience, I identify the main themes that permeated these patterns.
