LANDSCAPES, IMAGES AND THEIR (GEO)GRAPHICS REPRESENTATIONS ON THE FLAGS

Flags are part of a set of traditions associated with the national symbols. As representative icons of a nation, much of its symbolism is connected with elements that involve the culture, the politics, the ethnicity and the history. The landscape, as a theme dear to the geography, has also served as a feature used to reinforce the discourse and national identity through the symbolism of the flags. From the analysis this visual symbol, this article seeks a closer relation between the discipline and the forms of the symbolic representation, as a new perspective on the decoding of the forms of representation of the space.
