Abstract

The study deals with an integrative review that aims to discuss the participation of children in research protocols based on international scientific literature. The year of publication of the articles, the origin of these publications and the issue addressed in the study and its results were considered. The predominant discussion was on the consent of the child participating. The study shows that improving the children approach is needed so that their participation is effectively voluntary in research protocols, since the vision of childhood, based on sociological studies, focuses on attention and apprecia- tion of their potential abilities.
