The 50th Anniversary of the Declaration of Helsinki and the questionable critics of bioethicists from the National Institute of Health of the United States of America

The Declaration of Helsinki, updated in 2013, remains internationally controversial in the context of ethics in medical research involving human subjects. When it comes to poor countries, the current Declaration is fragile, especially by allowing double moral standard, one for researches placed in rich countries and another for researches in peripheral countries. But for bioethicists from the National Institutes of Health of the United States of America, the revised Declaration has problems that make it difficult to conduct research in countries with little resource. This paper discusses an article by Joseph Millum, David Wendler and Ezekiel Emanuel in the Journal of the American Medical Association on the revised Declaration of Helsinki.
