RESEARCH WITH PEOPLES OF TERREIRO OF NORTHEASTERN SEMIARID

The purpose of this manuscript is to analyze the scientific production in the semiarid region of northeastern Brazil aimed at the peoples of Terreiro, from a cut directed to the Bahian and Pernambucan hinterland. It is an integrative research seeking studies on the theme in various production vehicles. literary, in order to contribute to the understanding of the current status of traditional knowledge, enabling future research on the subject, understanding the terreiro peoples as an important part of the population of the semiarid territory arising from the slave processes in Brazil, processes that maintain until the present day the invisibility and historical exclusion of these human groups. The research highlights the importance of scientific studies as relevant instruments for the formation, politicization, recognition and empowerment of these peoples.
