The journalist as a user of information
a theoretical literature review of the approaches between journalism and Human Information Behavior

From the second half of the twentieth century to now, the theoretical studies of journalism began to consider the journalist's informational context for the news making process. These studies, called contemporary hypotheses of journalism, however, are not related at any time to the studies of Information Science, although several os theses pieces of work have elements in common. This article aims to analyze the intersections between these areas, especially from the connection of contemporary journalism hypotheses with the general theory of Human Informational Behavior. In this piece of work we made a literature review of the studies of informational behavior of journalists in Portuguese, English and Spanish, in addition to directly approaching the eight principles of Wilson and the main theoretical currents of journalism popular today in Brazil. Finally, we conclude that it is a gap that, if filled, can strengthen not only the development of the theoretical fields of Information Science and Journalism in Brazil - fields that are historically united in the country - but also increase the quality of educational training for journalists from the gradual inclusion of disciplines to discuss the search, use, verification and sharing of information.
